Steve has worked in the employee benefits field since 1985, spending the first ten years of his career with Standard Insurance Company.  At Standard he was a Group Sales Representative in Seattle, Employee Benefits Sales Manager in Sacramento, and Employee Benefits Sales Manager in Washington DC.  With an eye on starting his own firm, Steve relocated back to Portland in 1995, and represented Guarantee Life Insurance Company’s employee benefits division in the Portland area.  On March 5th, 1997, Steve launched Client First Group, Inc.

Steve actively participates in professional associations and in the community.  He served on the Board of the Portland Association of Health Underwriters for 6 years in several positions including Legislative Chair, President and Treasurer. He has also served on the board of the local chapter of International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists.  Outside the insurance industry, Steve is Vice President of the Gales Creek Camp Foundation Board of Directors, a non-profit organization that has summer camp programs for kids with Type 1 Diabetes.

A graduate of the University of Oregon with a BS in Business Administration, Steve has also earned the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation, conferred by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

Nancy Menagh joined Client First Group, Inc. in July 1999 bringing many years of experience in the financial services and insurance industry to the organization. Nancy works closely with Steve Tagmyer in providing day to day support to our clients and their employees. In addition, Nancy assists our clients seeking individual health insurance, or employees that are transitioning from an employer based plan to portability or other personal health insurance.  

In her free time Nancy enjoys quilting and other creative projects and she is involved in many outside organizations, including the Gold Star Wives of America.  Nancy has five grown children and three active grandchildren.

Barbara Swanson, CEBS

Barbara Swanson has worked in the employee benefits field in Portland for over 25 years and our strategic partnership with Barbara began in 2002.  She is President of Outsourcing Services, Inc. (OSI), a consulting firm specializing in employee benefit plan projects, which she and two associates founded in 1996.  Prior to starting OSI, Barbara held various sales and service positions with Aetna and First Health.  During her career, Barbara has had extensive experience in employee benefit consulting, the design of health plans, plan administration, data management, and the full range of employee benefit products and managed care options.

A graduate of Portland State University with a B.A. in English, Barbara also received the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation, a certificate awarded by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Barbara is past president of the Portland Chapter of the Western Pension & Benefits Conference, has chaired their one-day educational Spring Seminar in Portland several times, and has spoken at their annual conferences.  She is married, has one daughter living in France, and enjoys a hopeful game of golf.  

Lyndsey Donnerberg

Lyndsey has worked in the employee benefits field since 1998, getting her start in the Benefits Department of a Fortune 500 Company.   She spent the first couple of years focused on COBRA & FSA Administration and later managed benefits for numerous plans and locations across the country as the Health and Welfare Manager.  Lyndsey joined Client First Group, Inc. in April 2003 as an employee benefits broker, assisting employers with the many details of health and welfare benefits planning. 

Lyndsey participates in professional associations and has served on the Board of the Western Pension Benefits Conference in numerous capacities, including President, Portland Chapter and currently serves on the United Healthcare Broker Advisory Board.  Lyndsey graduated from Portland State University with a BA in English, is an Oregon native and enjoys spending time with her active twin boys.
